Photography made an impact on me early on. My earliest memory of a camera isn’t just seeing one and wondering how film works, it was also about feeling one. I remember as a child getting a smacked in the head from my mother’s bulky Nikkor lens – long before they made them with softer rubber and plastic. One could say that was the moment photography was first put in my head!
Beyond the occasional bump and exposed film roll here and there, I was fascinated by my mother’s ability to tell a story with a single scene. That fascination never left me, and today I channel that same storytelling drive into every session, whether I’m framing a corporate headshot or freezing a candid laugh between family members.
Trained on the ice, ready for anything. My technical skills were forged in the fast-paced world of sports – specifically ice hockey. While earning my Bachelor’s at SUNY Oswego, I spent my free time chasing the perfect shot of the highly skilled Lakers men’s hockey team.
It felt like they averaged eight goals a game, which meant the action was fast and it presented many opportunities of a perfectly timed puck in the back of the net. Learning to track a puck flying into the net gave me a unique skill set: anticipation. If I can freeze a slap shot in midair, I can certainly catch that candid smile during a branding session or the split-second highlight of your corporate event.

When I put the camera down… you can usually find me outside. I draw my inspiration from the unknown, whether that’s exploring a new trail at Letchworth State Park or Chestnut Ridge.
I’m also a massive sports fan: soccer, hockey, baseball and football. That love for the game keeps me on my toes and constantly pushes me to look for the “story” in the action.
